Branding, Illustration, Design, Marketing

For this project, we were challenged to create and brand a new business idea. I chose to explore the food and dining industry through this project by constructing a branding guide for a Dominican restaurant in the city of Boston.

After much consideration and 25 different logo roughs, I ultimately settled on creating “Haltura,” named after a Dominican slang term meaning “being extremely full of good food.”

The branding for Haltura features a wacky plantain in a chef’s hat as a brand mascot. This idea is meant to explore how the fun and vibrant Dominican energy would translate into a modern yet colorfully bold restaurant brand.
